Parker 44, Corner 9: Dudley, Decatur score twice each as Thundering Herd rolls

Corey Dudley and Carlton Decatur each scored two touchdowns as homestanding Parker blasted Corner44-9 in Class 5A, Region 5 action Friday night in Birmingham.

Dudley scored on a runs of 12 and 7 yards as part of a 12-carry, 143-yard night for the Thundering Herd (5-2, 3-2 region). Decatur scored on a 30-yard run, as well as a 46-yard punt return.

Parker ­— which led 42-0 at halftime — also got touchdown runs of 1 yard by Christopher Alexander and 55 yards by Jacob Millhouse. Cordell Smith kicked six extra points, while the Thundering Herd defense also managed a safety.

Corner (2-5, 1-4) avoided the shutout with a safety and a Drennen Hutchins 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. Aaron Trull added the extra point for the Yellow Jackets.
