Parker 21, Fairfield 0 Herd 1st Shut out of the season

Parker held Fairfeld to just 18 yards of total offense on the way to a 21-0 shutout in Class 5A, Region 5 action on Friday night.

But, for an entire half, it was unclear who would emerge victorious.

The Thundering Herd had 225 yards of offense, but didn’t score until the third quarter when and Corey Dudley got his first of two rushing touchdown. He finally got Parker on the board with just 38 seconds to go in the third quarter with a one-yard touchdown run; he added another touchdown run a mere 31 seconds later to extend the lead to 14-0.

Javonte Hurst added another touchdown with just over two minutes to go in the game to seal the victory.

Fairfield finished the game with 0 yard passing and 18 yards rushing. Dudley led all performers on the night, with 124 yards rushing; he was also the game’s leading receiver with 32 yards on two receptions.
