Parker 18, Fairfield 0: Thundering Herd too much for Tigers

Joel Ballard drove in four runs while Rodney Richardson, Solomon Muhammad and Tommie Neely combined for a no-hitter as Parker beat host Fairfield, 18-0, in a Class 5A, Area 9 game.

Parker (21-5, 3-2) scored seven runs in the first inning, three in the third and eight more in the fifth.

Ballard went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Jacob Byrd was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, while Isom Ford had a double and an RBI. Deondres Louis went 4-for-4 with an RBI and stole four bases.

Muhammad picked up the win as Richardson went two innings in the start. Muhammad struck out three and didn’t allow a hit in relief of Richardson, who worked two innings and allowed no runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Neely pitched one inning, walking one and striking out two. Richardson and Muhammad both had two hits and one RBI.
